What do you think are important factors tht led to the rise of the Shang Dynasty?
- Chinese civilisation first appeared in a fertile river valley.
- Around 3000 BCE , a group of villages existed on the Yellow River plains.
- Gradually, another group if villages called the Longshan villiages appeared.
- By 1500 BCE, the first Chinese cities were built on the plains of the Yellow River. Out of the
Longshan culture arose China's first civilisation ----- the Shang Civilisation.
I think that these factors are very important to the rising of Shang Dynasty
What do you think would have contributed to the downfall of the Shang Dynasty?
- The Shang king being killed c.1150 BCE.
- Conquered and ruled by the Western Zhou dynasty ( 1027-771 BCE )
- Zhou king being killed by a group of people. After then, his son had to move his capital eastward. His dynasty was know as the Eastern Zhou dynasty (771-221 BCE)
- During the war, the northern part of China was broken up into several competing kingdoms.
Finally, in 221 BCE, a prince managed to unite these kingdoms to form the first Chinese empire
under the Qin dynasty (221-206 BCE)
The downfall of the Shang Dynasty was not swift and had gone through each of those events listed and i think that each of those events had a part to play in bring down the Shang Dynasty.
